What to you currently do?
I’m currently the CEO of Mubaloo, one of the leading smartphone app developers in Europe.
What is your inspiration in Business?
Originally my Father was my inspiration. He ran one of the most successful private Architectural practises in the UK and I guess I wanted similar success. These days I’m inspired by the people I employ. I aim to employ great people and help them achieve their goals. By doing that, I achieve my goals.
Who do you admire?
I admire many of the great business leaders for different reasons; Branson, Dyson, Jobs, Gates – I admire them for their vision and their ability to surround themselves with people who do the things they’re not so good at. In other words I admire people who know their own strengths and weaknesses.
Looking back, are there things you would have done differently?
Not really. I can honestly say I have thoroughly enjoyed all the businesses I’ve been involved in, the successes and the failures – the failures teach you more!
What defines your way of doing business?
Hands off with a vision. My job is to set the sails, employ great people and take away their obstacles.
What advice would you give to someone just starting out?
Do not worry if things aren’t going so well as long as you’re learning. Experience is what you get when you don’t get what you want. Also take your time and stick to your knitting. The best businesses are often built over many years and several iterations.
